1. Overview
These terms govern your use of the Made on Merit website and platform services. Made on Merit is an AI talent development and business connection platform operated by 1529220 B.C. LTD., a company registered in British Columbia, Canada. By accessing or using this website, you agree to be bound by these terms.
2. Services
Made on Merit provides AI talent matching, group coaching calls, virtual hackathons, a resource library, community features, and related digital services. Our platform connects AI professionals with businesses seeking AI expertise. Services are provided on an informational and professional development basis and are not a substitute for independent professional advice.
3. User Accounts
When you create an account through Google sign-in, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.
4. Subscriptions & Billing
- Subscriptions are billed monthly on a recurring basis
- Prices are listed in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless otherwise stated
- Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle
- Payment is processed securely through our third-party payment provider
- We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days' advance notice
5. Event Registration & Hackathons
- Event registrations and hackathon participation are subject to availability
- Paid events require full payment at the time of registration
- We reserve the right to modify event details, including dates, format, and prizes
- Hackathon submissions become part of your platform portfolio unless otherwise specified
6. Cancellation & Refunds
- Subscriptions: Cancel anytime from your account settings. Access continues through the end of your current billing period. No partial-month refunds are issued for mid-cycle cancellations.
- Money-Back Guarantee: New subscribers may request a full refund within 30 days of their first payment.
- Events: Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the event are eligible for a full refund. Late cancellations may receive credit toward future events.
7. User Conduct
By using Made on Merit, you agree to:
- Maintain professional and respectful interactions with all platform users
- Provide accurate information in your profile and project postings
- Not use the platform for spam, harassment, or any unlawful purpose
- Respect the intellectual property of other users and the platform
- Not attempt to circumvent the matching system or contact users outside the platform before an official introduction
8. Blind Matching
Our talent matching system operates on a blind basis. This means:
- Identifying information (names, photos, company names) is hidden during the initial matching phase
- Both parties must express mutual interest before identities are revealed
- You agree not to attempt to identify or contact matched parties outside the official introduction process
- Made on Merit facilitates introductions but does not guarantee successful matches or outcomes
9. Intellectual Property
All platform content, including text, images, educational materials, and software, is the intellectual property of Made on Merit. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission. Content you create (profiles, submissions, posts) remains yours, but you grant Made on Merit a non-exclusive license to display it on the platform.
10. Limitation of Liability
Services are provided on an "as-is" basis. We do not guarantee specific outcomes from matching, coaching, or hackathon participation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Made on Merit shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
